Class EP2K locomotives in a new design

On 30 September 2024, Kolomensky zavod held a solemn ceremony of handing over the EP2K-500 locomotive to RZD. The event was timed to coincide with the 155th anniversary of Kolomna locomotive building. The jubilee locomotive became the first EP2K for which a new TMH‘s „DNA Brand“ was used. A special livery was created especially for this locomotive, which will be located at the St. Peterburg Passazhirsky-Moskovskiy (Passenger-Moscow) depot.

All subsequent Class EP2K locomotives will also have a new design. The 3 kV DC Class EP2K has a 4,800 kW power a top speed of 160 km/h. The prototype was built in Kolomna in December 2005, and in February 2006 it was presented to the RZD.
