Certus at the start

On 30 June 2023, for the first time, Certus Rail Solutions officially runs on the Belgian network. As such, there are currently 13 train operators authorised to operate on the Belgian network. As a new operator, Certus Rail Solutions wants to focus on a series of unique niche activities. So Certus is not just another rail operator: it is one of only two operators in Belgium dedicated to transporting rail equipment, large rail machines and infrastructure trains.

Because Certus Rail Solutions is part of the larger Strukton Group, it also has all the know-how to bring these machines safely and quickly to the construction sites. The activities are being launched with two of its own electris. Transport with diesel locomotives will soon be added, so that wagons with materials, site machinery and work trains can also be transported to non-electrified site zones.

Over time, Certus Rail Solutions aims to become an established name in the rail sector and expand its operations and fleet even further. As a major rail partner, Certus Rail Solutions is thus putting its weight behind the modal shift to transport more goods by rail instead of trucks by road. The range of services also includes specific work in port and industrial areas.
