Akiem and Talbot Services signed a contract for the overhaul of Class 186 TRAXXes

On 30 November 2023, Akiem and Talbot Services signed a contract for the overhaul of 23 Class 186 TRAXX locomotives in 2024, including on-going maintenance in the following years. Akiem chose Talbot Services because of its long experience in maintenance: founded in 1838 the company (until 2013 part of Bombardier Transportation) specialises in the maintenance, repair and general overhaul of rail vehicles and/or their subsystems. 

All works will be carried out by Talbot Services teams working in Aachen, while Akiem Maintenance & Services will be responsible for maintenance engineering and the supply chain of parts and overhauled components. The contract is backed by performance guarantees covering overhaul reliability levels and turnaround times for each locomotive.
