3TE28-0001 Sent For Acceptance Tests

On 1 February 2022, the Class 3TE28 prototype built by BMZ was sent to the VNIKTI testing facility at Kolomna to undergo acceptance and certification tests, which include the traction power, dynamic erformance, thermal, environmental, sanitary and hygienic characteristics of the locomotive, its functional safety. The locomotive will be tested both on the external track and at the test bench. Successful completion of the acceptance and certification tests will make it possible to obtain a certificate for batch production of the new class.

In October - November 2022 the 3TE28-0001 successfully completed a test phase at the Kursk-Sortirovochny depot, covering over 10,000 km. Based on the results of preliminary tests, the design documentation was given the letter "O", which allowed it to proceed to the next stage of testing.
