Over the past few weeks, RegioJet has sold back to Germany 28 second class carriages originally from the DB Fernverkehr fleet. They were bought by the German company TRI Train Rental. Pari CZ Servis ensured the inspection of the cars before their transport in its workshop in Kutná Hora and transport on the Czech section of the journey.
The cars were in relatively good technical condition, but they never got put into service with RegioJet. When asked about the reason for the sale, RegioJet only said that "we currently have no plans to refurbish these cars for our operation and therefore they are now for sale".
In addition to the obvious stagnation of the further development of new RJ lines, the reason may be the design of the power supply system of the cars only for operation in Germany, which would require modification with the installation of a new energy supply unit for use in the Czech Republic (and other countries). This then requires the process of approval of a change of type, which with the transition under responsibility of ERA has become even more procedurally demanding...
