A dedicated European train transported on 23 September the high-level delegation from Europe to InnoTrans. Its journey began in Brussels with a kick-off event on board the train in the presence of Mr. Georges Gilkinet, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Mobility, Ms. Tilly Metz, Member of the European Parliament, Mr. Kristian Schmidt, Director, Land Transport at the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, European Commission, Ms. Paloma Iribas Forcat, Chairperson of the Management Board, European Union Agency the Railways, Mr. Rodrigo da Costa, Executive Director of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme, and Mr. Giorgio Travaini, Executive Director of the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking.

The train ICE 13411 'Europe for Rail' left Brussels-Midi on 23 September at 08.47 h and arrived in Berlin Hbf at 15.17 h. The space served as a laboratory for ideas through high-level panels and workshops on topics such as rail benefits for passengers, women in rail, collaboration between ERA and EU-Rail and deployment of new solutions.

The European train arrived in Berlin in the afternoon, where the welcome ceremony was held at Berlin Hauptbahnhof in the presence of Mrs. Ute Bonde, Senator for Urban Mobility, Transport, Climate Action and the Environment for the State of Berlin, Mr. Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn, and the high-level guests disembarking the train, including Mr. Georges Gilkinet, as well as CEOs of Europe’s Rail Membership and high-level representatives from rail associations.
