End of operation of the NS's Class 1700

On 19 November 2023, an official farewell run was held with the Class 1700 locomotive. These locomotives were used by NS International to haul the Amsterdam - Berlin IC trains on the Dutch section. At the latest, with the upcoming change of the timetable in December, they should be replaced by Vectrons, which will haul these trains throughout the route without locomotive change at Bad Bentheim. This will reduce journey times and, together with other measures, result in a time saving of around half an hour.
