On 11 April 2023, CZ LOKO announced that BorsodChem had taken over the EffiShunter 1000 locomotive. The machine is 744.151, which also became the first vehicle of this type destined for Hungary. It will be used on the sidings at the factory site in Kazincbarcika in the north-eastern part of the country.
Michal Schaffer, CZ LOKO sales manager, adds: "The new locomotive was delivered six months after the contract was signed. Delivery time, price, operating costs and safety played a major role in the tender. We came out of the competition with the best result and were thus able to confirm the long-term reputation of the brand with a favourable price/quality ratio for our locomotives."
For CZ LOKO, which has been operating in Hungary since the summer of 2017, BorsodChem is a new customer and the first typical user of sidings here. Czech locomotives are already used here by operators like CER Cargo Holding, Magyar Vasúti Áruszállító (MVÁ) or Prvá Slovenská železničná (PSŽ).
