At the end of the last week LEO Express’s Class 480 FLIRT EMUs started making test runs on the SŽDC network. This was a fine opportunity for some publicity: 480.002 arrived at Praha hl. n. at 10.00, and a celebratory "birth" of the new Czech open access passenger operator was realised - with the attendance of qualified medical staff, too (see photos). In the afternoon 480.002 headed east, again under its own power, following the main line through Pardubice, Olomouc and Ostrava, to its future home base at Bohumín, reached at around 21.00. It subsequently returned west to Praha on another test run over what, from December this year, will be its regular service route.
