ICE 3 Modernisation Programme
DB has started batch modernisation of 66 eight-car high speed ICE 3 EMUs. This involves 50 Class 403 and 16 Class 406 trains (including three belonging to NS), which have now been in service for around 15 years, and are now due for mid-life refurbishment.
Inside the DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung Nürnberg main hall, where most of the space is taken up by ICE 3 cars.

First Complete Giruno Presented
On 18 May 2017 Stadler and SBB presented the first complete 11-car Giruno EMU. Attending the event were Doris Leuthard, the President of the Swiss Confederation, and about 500 other guests.
The photo of a first Class RABe 501 11-car Giruno EMU was taken during a test run on 16 May 2017 between Sulgen and Erlen.

Transport Logistic, Part 1
The 16th International Trade Fair for Logistics, Mobility, IT and Supply Chain Management took place at the München Messe between 9 and 12 May 2017.
WASCOSA exhibited two platform wagons, built by Tatravagónka, and loaded with tank containers. The photo shows 45-foot Class Sgmmnss 33 85 4594 021

WESTbahn’s New KISS EMUs
On 19 May 2017 WESTbahn presented a new KISS EMU, one of the batch of ten ordered in 2015, at a media event held at Wien Westbahnhof, following which guests were invited on board the train for a trip to St. Pölten and back.
