New Coradia Continental

Under the contract signed with DB Regio in April 2012, Alstom is now starting to outshop the 28 Coradia Continental three-car EMUs. The trains are to be used on Lines S5 and S8 of the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn in Nordrhein-Westfalen since December 2014. Because their design complies with latest European crash norms, they differ slightly from previous Coradia Continentals and have a restyled front end design. Here we see 440 303/803 on 8 January 2014 at Wien Floridsdorf marshalling yard, en route to the RTA Rail Tec Arsenal climatic test centre.
