First Car Of The New ČD Double Deck Push-Pull Trains

Škoda Vagonka continues to build a batch of five three-car push-pull trains for ČD, which were ordered on 29 March 2019. A bodyshell for the first double deck carriage was completed recently and it is now being prepared for cabling installation. The rakes with a maximum speed of 160 km/h are based on the NIM Express concept and will be used on the Ostrava - Frenštát pod Radhoštěm line in northern Moravia starting in spring 2021.

In addition, the order for ten Viaggio Comfort five-car rakes is also progressing - seven cars are now in the final assembly in Ostrava, using bodyshells supplied by the Siemens’s Wien works.
