SJ’s Class X2 EMU Refit Progress
On 16 December 2016 ABB gave an insight presentation at the Südostbahn workshops in Switzerland showing the progress being made with the X2U modernisation project being realised for SJ.

Greater Anglia Starts Fleet Modernisation
The first of the batch of 30 refurbished Renatus 25 kV AC Class 321/3 EMUs, 321 303, was returned to regular service with Abellio Greater Anglia on 20 October 2016.
The second four-car 321/3 to be returned to service was 321 304 on 16 December 2016, here seen at Southend Victoria.

Horka - Węgliniec International Line Reopened
For almost three years, the international section of the southern freight corridor between Germany and Poland, commonly referred to in Poland as Line E30, has been closed for upgrading. Reinauguration was on 7 December 2016, in spite of the fact that there still remains much work to be completed on various access lines in Germany.

Metropolis For Riyadh Metro Project
The evolving six-line Riyadh metro network is at present the world’s largest metro construction project in realisation, designed to cater for the rapidly expanding resident and working population of the Saudi Arabian capital. A batch of Metropolis EMUs is being built by Alstom at Chorzów for Lines 4, 5 and 6.
